William H. Ver Mulm

HUDSON, SOUTH DAKOTA ~ William H. Ver Mulm, 83, of Hudson, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

 Private family funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Porter Funeral Home in Hudson, South Dakota. Burial will follow at Eden Cemetery at Hudson.  William Harold Ver Mulm was born December 7, 1940, in Edgerton, Minnesota, the son of Herb and Anna (Mantel) Ver Mulm. William attended school in Hudson, South Dakota.

 He married Janet Brunsting on June 29, 1961, in Rock Valley, Iowa. They lived in Fairview, South Dakota for 5 years before moving to Hudson, South Dakota. William worked for 2 different farmers for a few years before working at Sioux-Preme Packing Company in Sioux Center, Iowa for 30 years.

 William loved to go fishing and camping, and especially loved spending time with their kids and grandkids.

 He is lovingly survived by his wife, Janet; 4 children, Debra Halseth of Hudson, Brad Ver Mulm of Hudson, Luann Finch also of Hudson, and Carla (Shane) Hummel of Alcester, South Dakota; 9 grandchildren, Daniel Ver Mulm, Tommy Ver Mulm, Emily Ver Mulm, Nick Finch, Shaina Van Roekel, Jessie Appley, Nate Finch, Luke Hummel, and Blake Hummel; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Harley (Janice) Ver Mulm of Hudson, Darwin (Margaret) Ver Mulm of Leavenworth, Kansas, and Russell (Pam) Ver Mulm of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; 3 sisters, Marcene (Marion) Ver Burg of Rock Valley, Iowa, Carol Baker of Hudson, and Pam (Jim) Bockelman of Hawarden, Iowa; and many nephews and nieces.

 William was preceded in death by his parents; baby, Ronda Ver Mulm; daughter-in-law, Tina Ver Mulm; son-in-law, Rick Halseth; and brother-in-law, Walt Baker.
