William Sieler

William Ray Sieler, Sr., 71, of Rock Valley, Iowa died Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at his daughter’s home in Rock Valley. Private family memorial services will be held and condolences may be left for the family at www.porterfuneralhomes.com.

William Ray Sieler, Sr., son of Raymond and Matilda (Westerwal) Sieler, was born May 1, 1943 at Creighton, South Dakota. Bill proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. He married Nancy Saavedra at Mitchell, South Dakota in 1968. The couple later divorced, but remained close friends. Bill worked on cars doing auto body painting. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing, and trips to the casino.

Bill is survived by his sons, Bill (Ann) Sieler of Rock Valley and Jason (Roxanne) Sieler of Canton, South Dakota; daughters, Venus Van Tilburg of Rock Valley, Heather Dixon of Rock Valley, and Dawn Suhr of Hudson, South Dakota; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; former wife, Nancy Schrank; and sisters, Linda Sieler, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Ruth (Merle) Koedam, and Sandy Sieler both of Alvord, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by parents and brothers, Tony, Frank, Albert, and Raymond Sieler.
