ROCK VALLEY, IOWA~ Theresa “Terry” Vandemore Pease, 61, of rural Rock Valley, died on Friday, July 29th at the Avera Heart Hospital with family and friends by her side.
Memorial Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 3rd at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rock Valley with Father Doug Klein officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will be in the St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation with the family will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, with a Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley. Condolences may be sent to www.porterfuneralhomes.com.
Terry was born on February 8, 1955 to Bodie and Gerry (Nicolai) Vandemore in Hudson, South Dakota. She attended Hudson High School and Mount Marty College, graduating in 1977 with a degree in art.
Terry married the love of her life, John Pease on July 28, 1979 in Vermillion, South Dakota. After their marriage they lived in Sartell, Minnesota returning to live on the Vandemore family farm near Rock Valley, Iowa in 1997. Terry was a woman of many passions-she felt strongly about animal welfare, the environment, her photography, and she was a proud Democrat. Terry was very soft hearted and her home was always filled with rescued creatures.
Terry is survived by her loving husband, John; sister, Renee Vandemore (Lynne Thier) of Duluth, Minnesota; aunt, Mary Nicolai of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; brother-in-law, Dennis Pease of Garretson, South Dakota; many cousins and lifelong friends, and the numerous dogs and cats who have shared her home.
