Hawarden, Iowa~ Stuart A. Wood, 60, of Hawarden, died Sunday, July 6, 2014 at his residence. A Prayer Service for family and the public will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawarden with Rev. Andrew Carlson officiating. Visitation with the family will follow the prayer service. Private Family inurnment will be in the Grace Hill Cemetery in Hawarden. The Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden is assisting the family. Stuart A. Wood was born December 14, 1953 in Hawarden, Iowa, the son of George and Donnie (Heuer) Wood. He graduated from West Sioux High School in 1972 and from Wayne State College. Stuart taught at SECO College in Hawarden, worked at Livestock Concepts in Hawarden and farmed.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he was baptized and confirmed.
Stuart is survived by his mother, Donnie; sisters, Kay (Jack) Borchers and Randee (Denny) Peters all of Hawarden; and many nephews and nieces.
Stuart was preceded in death by his father.
