Stanley Olson

Stanley Olson, 94, of Canton, South Dakota, formerly of Inwood, Iowa, died Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Sanford USD Medical Center, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, October16, 2013 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church Northwest of Inwood, Iowa. Burial will follow at Our Saviors Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation with family will be held one hour prior to the funeral service.

Stanley was born August 8, 1919 on the homestead Northwest of Inwood, Iowa, son of Gabriel and Anna Theodora (Anderson) Olson. He farmed on the family farm with his brother Herman and also raised Belgian and Percheron horses. He loved raising animals on the farm, going on trail rides, and sharing with kids. Stan moved to the Canton Good Samaritan Center in 2011.

Stan is survived by his brother, Milo (Wanda) Olson of Larchwood, Iowa and his nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Gerhard, Thorvald, and Herman Olson; sisters, Olive Magnuson, Oneva Peterson, Helen Sorenson, Myrtle Kuecker, and Palma Sundem.
