Sharon Mc Guire

HAWARDEN, IOWA – Sharon K. Mc Guire, 69 of Vermillion, South Dakota, formerly of Hawarden and Alcester and Beresford, South Dakota, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton, South Dakota at the age of 69 years.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2018 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, LCMS in Hawarden, Iowa with Rev. Joshua Lowe officiating. Burial will follow the luncheon at the St. Joseph Emmett Cemetery rural Beresford, South Dakota. Visitation will begin at noon Wednesday, with the family present beginning at 5:30 p.m. and a Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden. Sharon K. Mc Guire was born on April 4, 1948 in Hawarden, Iowa to Orin and Lois (Rise-Anderson) Boisen. Sharon graduated from West Sioux High School in 1966. Sharon worked at Coil Craft in Hawarden, The Municipal Liquor Store, and AJ's in Beresford, South Dakota and Total Stop Food Store in Alcester, South Dakota where she later retired. Sharon married Jim Mc Guire on October 13, 2007.

Sharon was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawarden, Iowa. Sharon loved to be outdoors, hunting and fishing, loved taking care of her horses, chickens, llama, turkeys, goats, dogs, cats, peacocks, however, she mostly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Orin Boisen, and one brother, Steve Boisen.

Her survivors include her mother, Lois and step-father Duane Meether of Hawarden, Iowa; her husband, Jim Mc Guire of Vermillion, South Dakota; two daughters, Heather (Mike) Sigaty of Sioux City, Iowa, and Jennifer (Tim) Thissell of Beresford, South Dakota; two step-sons, Adam Mc Guire of Lafayette, Indiana and Kevin (Laura) Mc Guire of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota; 9 grandchildren, Chelsie, Zachery, Kyle and Cheyenne, Tyler, Lexie, Reed, Max, and Easton; a 1 great- grandson, Logan; sisters-in-law, Dori (Mark) Weber of Kansas City, Kansas, Nancy (Allen) Twedt of Richmond, Virginia, and Carol Young and her friend Ron Gatlin of Kansas City, Missouri; her mother-in-law, Bea (the late Don) Mc Guire of Beresford, South Dakota; her dog Charlie; nieces & nephews and several other relatives.
