Russell De Jong, 71, died on Saturday, July 26, 2014 in Tempe, Arizona at the Westchester Nursing Home. A family burial will be held at the Valley View Cemetery on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Norman De Jong officiating. Porter Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Russell De Jong was born on October 10, 1942, in Rock Valley, Iowa, to Henry and Anna De Jong.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary, who passed away on December 12, 2013.

Left to mourn are his 4 children: Sheila De Vries, Rebecca Slattery, Eric De Jong and Lance De Jong; 10 grandchildren; 4 siblings: Dorothy Breems, Lester De Jong, Lorraine Van Laar, Norman De Jong; sister-in-law, Gert De Jong; and many nieces and nephews.
