HAWARDEN, IOWA – Rudolph “Rudy” Fred Bertram, Jr., 84, of Hawarden, formerly of Ireton, Iowa, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at the Hawarden Regional Healthcare Hospital.
MEMORIAL SERVICE will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2021 at St. John's Lutheran Church near Ireton with Rev. David Daumer officiating. Inurnment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Ireton.
Rudolph “Rudy” Fred Bertram, Jr. was born June 23, 1936 near Ireton, Iowa, the son of Rudolph Charles Fred Bertram, Sr. and Hazel Virginia (Struble) Bertram. He graduated from the Hawarden High School in Hawarden, Iowa in 1954.
Rudy made his home in the Ireton, Iowa area where he farmed and worked construction building roads. He enjoyed fishing and playing his guitar. Rudy was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church near Ireton.
Rudy is survived by four sisters, Nema Heider of Apple Valley, Minnesota, Marlene Wright of Sioux City, Iowa, Marilynn Young of Tucson, Arizona, and Linda Pearson of St. Paul, Minnesota; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Bertram of Little Rock, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
Rudy was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Rosalie; two brothers, Leslie and Donald; and three brothers-in-law, John Heider, Kenneth Wright, and Robert Pearson.
