Inwood, Iowa ~ Paul Evan De Boer, 59, passed away in a tragic accident on his acreage near Inwood on Friday, October 12, 2018.
Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 18, 2018 at the First Reformed Church in Inwood, Iowa with Rev. Rob Horstman officiating. Interment will be prior to the service at Hillside Cemetery in Doon, Iowa. A Prayer Service for family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the church with procession to the cemetery to follow. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church. The Porter Funeral Home is assisting the family. Condolences may be sent to www.porterfuneralhomes.com.
Paul was born on April 24, 1959 to Theran and Wilma (Schuiteman) De Boer of Sioux Center, Iowa. Paul was accompanied by his friend and fiancé, Karen Van Ginkel, during his last few years of his life.
Paul is survived by 3 children and 8 grandchildren. His children: Tami (Matt) Bakker, Tara (Scott) Boer, Evan (Melissa) De Boer. His grandchildren: Drake and Sage Bakker; Tenley, Cason, and Taylor Boer; Isaac, Wyatt, and Gauge De Boer. Paul also enjoyed his time with Karen’s children and grandchildren.
Paul brought a smile and a story wherever he went. He took pride in his work, his family, and his friends. Paul enjoyed farming, camping, and working with his hands. He had a deep love for horses and found joy in sharing that with his grandchildren.
Paul is survived by his siblings, Alan (Vi) De Boer; Carla (Dan) Roozing; Beth (Joel) Flier; and Amy (Dave) Ver Burg. Paul has many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by Wilma and Theran De Boer (parents), Lillian De Boer (step-mother), Leon De Boer (brother), and Arloa De Boer (sister).
Paul will be deeply missed by all.
