Patrick Allen Kelhower

HUDSON, SOUTH DAKOTA – Patrick Allen Kelhower, 52, of Hudson, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at his residence, with his wife by his side, from cancer.

   Visitation with the family will begin at 5:00 p.m. Monday, September 12, 2022, with a time of sharing at 6:00 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden, Iowa. 

   Patrick Allen Kelhower was born December 11, 1969, in Hawarden, Iowa, the son of Donald and Karma “Kay” (Boyer) Kelhower. He received his GED in 1993. Patrick married Marie Ashley on May 2, 1997, in Elk Point, South Dakota. He was employed as a welder at Alkota Cleaning Systems in Alcester, South Dakota for 20 years.

   Patrick was a member of the South Pit Club in the early 2000’s. He loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed gardening. He was a grill master when it came to cooking and liked to hunt for morel mushrooms. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends, shooting guns, and sitting on his back porch watching hummingbirds. Patrick was a very good husband.

   He is survived by his wife, Marie of Hudson; his mother, Kay Kelhower of Hawarden; and his brother, Brian Kelhower and his wife Jodi of Cary, Illinois.

   Patrick was preceded in death by his father, Donald on January 22, 2021.
