Neva Kircher

HAWARDEN, IOWA-Neva Lillian Kircher, 94, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at the Hillcrest Care Center in Hawarden, Iowa. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, LCMS in Hawarden, Iowa. The Rev. Michael Boothby will officiate. Interment will follow in Grace Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon, with the family present from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden with a prayer service at 7:00 pm. Neva Lillian Kircher was born September 25, 1922 in Ireton, IA to William and Hannah (Nenaber) Boisen. She was baptized November 5, 1922 and confirmed in 1936 at St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ireton, IA. On March 16, 1947, she married Leland Kircher. To this union two daughters were born, Nancy Koob and Paula Schuller.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawarden, IA where she taught Sunday School a number of years and was an active member of the Ladies aid for many years.

She and Leland lived on the family farm southeast of Hawarden until her husband’s death on May 6, 1995. She then moved to Hawarden. The love of her life were her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.

Neva is survived by her two daughters, Nancy (Dick) Koob of Manly, IA and Paula (Larry) Schuller of Ireton, IA; four grandchildren: Connie (Andy) Smith of Hales Corners, WI, Brian (Emily) Koob of Rockwell, IA, Andrea (Barry) Kracht of Hardwick, MN, and Eric (Jamie) Schuller of Ireton, IA; 10 great grandchildren; special friend, Lester Janssen of Hawarden, IA; brother-in law, Raymond Eilts of Hawarden, IA; and sisters-in-law, Lois (Duane) Meether and Jeanette Kircher all of Hawarden, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 4 brothers and their wives; 4 sisters and their husbands; brother-in-law, Arlo Kircher; and several nieces and nephews.
