Inwood, IA: Nellie Agnes Rozeboom, 94, of Inwood, Iowa, died Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Fellowship Village of Inwood. A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 2, at 1:30 PM at Porter Funeral Home of Inwood with Rev. Rob Horstman officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery of Rock Valley, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 3:00-6:00 PM. Wednesday, February 1, at Porter Funeral Home of Inwood. Memorials may be directed to Fellowship Village.

 

   Nellie Agnes (Zomer) Rozeboom was born July 2, 1928, to Herman and Helena (Spaans) Zomer, Sr. of Corsica, South Dakota. She grew up on the farm near Corsica and attended school through the 8th grade. After she moved to northwest Iowa, she met and was united in marriage with Cozyn Rozeboom. They were married November 22, 1949. They lived on a farm around Doon, IA, Steen MN, and Larchwood, IA. In 1978, they moved to Inwood, IA. On July 8, 2004, Cozyn passed away. On December 29, 2011, Nellie moved to Fellowship Village of Inwood.

 

   Nellie worked hard all her life and enjoyed her work. She spent many hours helping milk cows, feeding chickens, gardening, cooking, canning, painting buildings, walking beans, and many other things. Nellie enjoyed fixing puzzles, crocheting, knitting, reading, sewing, and playing bingo. She especially liked going fishing with Cozyn. They spent many hours on the boat and had many “fish” stories to tell.

 

   She is survived by her children, Wilma (John) Barrett of Sioux Falls, SD, LeRoy Rozeboom of Inwood, Joyce Rozeboom of Inwood, Norma (Lloyd) Winters of Hull, IA, and Linda Larson of Soldotna, AK; son-in-law, Denny Scholten of Inwood; 16 grandchildren: Kim, Steve, Brian, Mike, Kelly, Barry, Jeremy, Jamie, Sherry, Curt, Sue, Crystal, Kenny, Tiffany, Mindy, and Patrick; 49 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Rozeboom; brother, Clarence (Marlene) Zomer; sisters-in-law, Jeane Zomer and Joane Zomer; in-laws, Gert Rozeboom, Lane (Kathy) Rozeboom, Gerrit (Marie) Rozeboom, Hank Rozeboom, Tony (Sue) Rozeboom, Clazina Rus, Elizabeth (Neil) Boluyt; and many relatives and friends.

 

   She was proceeded in death by her parents, Herman and Helena; husband, Cozyn; an infant son; son, Harvey Rozeboom; daughter, Connie Scholten; son-in-law, Gary Larson; daughter-in-law, Marcia Rozeboom; granddaughter, Jill Rozeboom; grandson, Jeffrey Winters; step-grandson, Grant Larson; great-great grandchild, Caroline; sister, Hermina (Dick) Rozeboom; brothers, Cornie Zomer and Herman Zomer; in-laws, Teunis Rozeboom, Dick (Esther) Rozeboom, Bill (Jeanette) Rozeboom, Ada Rozeboom, Marv Rus, Judy Rozeboom, Paul Schelling, and Gert Schelling.
