Nancy Van Driel

Canton, SD: Nancy Van Driel, 77, of Canton, South Dakota, formerly of Rock Valley, Iowa, died Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Canton Good Samaritan Center. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley with Rev. Garry Nyenhuis officiating. Visitation, with family present, will be held on Monday, September 2, 2013 at Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley from 6:00 ' 7:30 p.m. Condolences may be left for the family at www.porterfuneralhomes.com.

Nancy (De Vries) Van Driel, daughter of Lane and Gertrude (Brouwer) De Vries, was born on February 13, 1936 in Rock Valley, Iowa. On September 16, 1952, Nancy was united in marriage with Marvin Van Driel. Nancy had many interests over the years. She enjoyed woodworking, sewing, crocheting, camping, flower and vegetable gardening, canning, and attending threshing bees. Her greatest love though, was spending time with her family.

Nancy is survived by her three daughters, Carol Van Driel of Canton, South Dakota; Amanda (Jerry) Langley of Westfield, Iowa; and Dawn (Theo) Dykstra of Canton; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Michele, Jeremy, Julie, Kristi, Nick, and Devin; four great-grandchildren, Laurissa, Addison, Wyatt, and Kayla; brother, Bill (Nell) De Vries of Elkton, South Dakota and sister, Martha (Loren) Dunteman of Balaton, Minnesota.

Preceding Nancy in death were her parents, Lane and Gertrude De Vries, husband, Marvin Van Driel, brother, Richard De Vries, and two sisters, Ann Van Dyke and Jennie (Adrian) Bliek.
