Inwood, IA: Marlene Hage, 67, of Inwood, died Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota after fighting a courageous 10 month battle with ovarian cancer. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 10, 2014 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Inwood with Rev. John Wolf and Rev. Marlin Haugrud officiating. Burial will follow at Richland Cemetery of Inwood. Visitation with the family will be 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers please direct memorials to the Avera McKennan Foundation, cancer research fund in memory of Marlene Hage.

Marlene was born February 1, 1947 in Canton, SD, daughter of Edsel and Gladys (Hansen) Stensland. Marlene married Dean Hage on April 14, 1967 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Inwood. Marlene was a purchasing secretary at John Morrell for over 40 years, retiring on February 1, 2013. She loved spending time with family and friends, going to grandchildren's activities, planning the family get-togethers and vacations, and taking care of her parents in their later years. Marlene always said becoming a mother and grandmother was the most rewarding part of her life. She put her whole self into loving and supporting her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Dean; daughters, Jill (Brian) Pederson and children, Allie, Carley, Kaylie, Carter, and Riley of Sioux Falls, SD, Jodi (Russ) Pixler and children, Jace, Jensen, and Reece of Sioux Falls, SD; sons, Darin (Stefanie) Hage and children, Dylan, Sydney, and Sawyer of Harrisburg, SD, Daniel (Sheila) Hage and children, Willa and Weston of Urbandale, IA; sister, Connie Larsgaard of Sioux Falls, SD; brother, Curt (Stephanie) Stensland of Larchwood, IA.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Edsel and Gladys Stensland.
