Inwood, Iowa: Lucy Visser, 95, of Inwood, Iowa died Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 21, 2014 at the Inwood Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Sam Krikke officiating. Burial will follow at Richland Cemetery. Visitation, with the family present, will be Thursday, November 20, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. at Inwood Christian Reformed Church. Lucy was born September 1, 1919, daughter of Klaas and Nellie (Van Maanen) Driesen. Lucy married Elmer Visser on May 28, 1940. Together they farmed near Inwood, Iowa until retiring into town in 1980. Lucy was an excellent cook and also enjoyed crocheting, traveling and reading. She loved visiting with people and socializing with her friends, but her greatest joy was time spent with family. Lucy was a member of the Christian Reformed Church of Inwood where she participated in Ladies Aide. She also enjoyed playing cards and games with fellow church friends. For the past 3 years, Lucy has lived at Fellowship Village.
Lucy is survived by her two sons, Glenn (Donna) Visser and Loren (Sherry) Visser all of Inwood; two daughters, Donna (Merle) Tilstra of Inwood and Nelma Vanden Bosch of Worthington, Minnesota; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Clarence Vander Sanden of Rock Valley, Iowa; and two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Driesen of Rock Valley and Doris Brower of Prescott Valley, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer; grandson, Lance Tilstra; son-in-law, Floyd Vanden Bosch; sister, Rolena (Louie) Winters; and two brothers, John and Jimmy Driesen.
