Ireton, Iowa ~ Lloyd Bertram Eilts, 87, of Ireton, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2015 at the Hillcrest Health Care Services in Hawarden.
Memorial Service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the St. Pauls Lutheran Church LCMS in Ireton, Iowa with Rev. Todd Bunge officiating. Burial of the cremated remains with military rites will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Ireton. Visitation with the family will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. prior to the Memorial Service. The Porter Funeral Home in Ireton is assisting the family.
Lloyd Bertram Eilts was born March 23, 1928 to Henry and Irene (Bertram) Eilts in Ireton, Iowa. He graduated from the Ireton High School in 1946 and served with the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Following his honorable discharge he returned to the family farm until his retirement.
Lloyd married Gloria Jean Kopecky on October 20, 1952. He was a member of the Ireton American Legion Bertram Post #276, and a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church LCMS.
He is survived by his daughters, Sherri (David) Harry of Hawarden, Iowa and Beverly (Ron) Reimer of Shawnee, Kansas; sisters, Delma (Bud) Vreeman of Ireton, Helen Nitzschke of Eagan, Minnesota, and Ruthie Van Den Berg of Ireton; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Vernon; and wife, Jean in 2010.
