Linda Larson

HUDSON, SD: Linda Larson, 60, of Hudson, South Dakota, who battled cancer with dignity and strength, was welcomed into the arms of God, Friday, January 9, 2015 at Sanford USD Medical Center at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Hudson Lutheran Church at Hudson with Rev Lori Marty officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 13 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at Hudson Lutheran Church with a prayer service following at 7:00 p.m. Condolences may be left for the family at www.porterfuneralhomes.com. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations will be directed towards Linda’s charities and projects that were close to her heart. God bless!!

Linda Fisher was born September 5, 1954 at Deadwood, SD, daughter of Curtis and Lorraine (Keller) Fisher. She graduated from Parkston High School in 1972. She married the love of her life on November 25, 1972 at Hudson Lutheran Church. Raising a family on a farm in rural SD was where it started. They actively farmed for over 20 years. Together they then owned and operated Larson Sales, an outdoor power equipment distributorship, at Hudson and more recently purchased a clothing store franchise, MODE, located at The Bridges in Sioux Falls. She operated this business with one of her daughters. She loved vacationing with her husband, family and friends and had an awe-inspiring appreciation for earth’s beauty.

She took great pride in her 42 year marriage, daughters, six grandchildren, friends, church and community. She was a member of Hudson Lutheran Church, a certified EMT, member of Hudson study club, an amazing volunteer, entertainer, hostess and friend to everyone who entered her home. She never knew a stranger, making a friend with someone everywhere she went.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Donn; daughters, Nicole (Jason “Bead”) Hisel of Centerville, SD, Danielle (Josh) Holte and children Lauren, Anders, and Elin of Sioux Falls, SD, Heidi (Ryan) Austin and children Keira, Lydia, and Brea of Centerville, SD; her mother, Lorraine Fisher of Yankton, SD; brothers, Steve Fisher of Yankton, Kevin (Cindy) Fisher of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Duane Fisher of Kearney, MO; sisters, Sherry Fisher of Yankton, Elaine (Roger) Gordon of Davenport, IA; Donn’s brother, Dave (Shelley) Larson of Tea, SD; Donn’s foster-brother, David Larson; Donn’s sisters, Grace (Terry) Finch of Sioux Falls, SD, Becky (Chip Andela) Larson of Sioux Falls, SD, along with countless friends and family.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Curtis Fisher; and brother, John Fisher.
