Hawarden, Iowa – Keith Wood, 65, of rural Hawarden, passed away suddenly on Monday, March 5, 2018 at his residence.
Visitation with the family will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, with a Prayer Service at 4:00 p.m. at the Hudson Community Center in Hudson, South Dakota. The Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden is assisting the family. Condolences may be sent to www.porterfuneralhomes.com.
Keith Levi Wood was born October 27, 1952 in Hudson, South Dakota, the son of Herbert and Nettie (Baatz) Wood. He graduated from the Hudson High School in 1970. He farmed east of Hudson in Sioux County, Iowa.
Keith married Michele Mahaney on August 6, 1983 in Walthill, Nebraska. They made their home north east of Hawarden. Keith worked at the Schoeneman’s Lumber Yard in Hudson. He later worked at the Farmer’s Coop Lumber Yard in Sioux Center, Iowa. He currently was employed at Neal Chase Lumber Yard in Sioux Center.
Keith enjoyed collecting antiques and doing wood working.
He is survived by his wife, Michele; daughter, Sarah Wood of Iowa City, Iowa; 3 sisters, Judy (Arlin) De Vos of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Nathalie (Robert) Torkelson of Sioux Falls, and Barb (Frank) Rickabaugh of Akron, Iowa; and a sister-in-law, Kathy Wood of Merced, California.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents; and 3 brothers, Herbert, Robert in infancy, and Tom.
