Kathy Riepma

IRETON, IOWA- Katherine A. 'Kathy' Riepma, 72, of Ireton, died Saturday, April 27, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tacoma, Washington.
Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Christian Reformed Church in Ireton with Rev. Norlyn Van Beek officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Public visitation will begin at noon Friday, with the family present from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Christian Reformed Church. The Porter Funeral Home in Ireton is assisting the family. Katherine Arlene Anema was born April 3, 1941 with her twin sister Ann Marlene, in Ireton, IA to Andrew and Jeanette (Koopmans) Anema. She was baptized and made Profession of Faith in the Ireton Christian Reform Church. She graduated from Western Christian in 1960. Kathy married Ernest "Jack" Riepma on January 5, 1962 and to this union 2 sons were born.

Kathy has driven school bus for 40 years along with being a homemaker and helping with the field work. For many years Kathy was a leader of the Coffee Break Bible Study group and also participated in the women's afternoon Bible study. Kathy enjoyed walking, being a Red Hater, visiting the elderly, golfing with the grandchildren and watching the granddaughters show their horses at the horse shows. Kathy loved life and everyone she knew.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jack; sons, Randy (Leigh) Riepma of Sioux Falls, SD and Jerry (Tracy) Riepma of Ireton; 5 grandchildren Kaylee, Riley, Blake, Lauryn and Lyric; sister, Ann (Lloyd) Jasper; brother, Andrew "Butch" Anema; and brother-in-law, Keith Van Der Vliet.

Kathy was preceded in death by her twin sister Ann Marlene in infancy; her parents and sister, Pat Van Der Vliet.
