JoAnn Schipper

Ireton, Iowa- JoAnn Ardis Schipper, 87, of Ireton, passed away Friday, March 1, 2013 at the Hawarden Regional Healthcare in Hawarden.
Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ireton with Rev. Andrew Carlson officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
JoAnn Ardis Nygard was born on February 8, 1926 in Akron, Iowa, the daughter of Howard and Bertha (Sommervold) Nygard. She married Andrew Schipper on July 1, 1950 in Akron. They made their home in Ireton, Iowa where JoAnn taught Kindergarten and Andy was the postmaster.
She enjoyed crocheting, reading, baking, and spending time with her family. Her hobby was collecting angels.
Those left to cherish JoAnn's memory are her loving husband, Andy; her four children, Andrea (Butch) Southard of Marshalltown, Iowa, Kirk (Cindy) Schipper of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Paula (Rich) Hohn also of Sioux Falls, and Lori (Bruce) Van Buskirk of Beresford, South Dakota; her grandchildren, Emily Southard, Taylor Schipper, Sam Schipper, Matt Hohn, Krista (Jerrod) Mann, Brady Van Buskirk, and Jenna Van Buskirk: and her brother, Gerald Nygard of Hawarden, Iowa.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her father and mother, Howard and Bertha Nygard.
The family would like to thank the Hawarden Regional Healthcare Hospital, the Ireton Medical Clinic, and Hospice of Siouxland for all their love and care. Also many thanks to Pastor Andrew Carlson for his visits and prayers.
