Joane Taylor

Ireton, IA: Joane Taylor, 63, of Ireton, died Monday October 7, 2013 at the Hawarden Regional Healthcare Hospital. A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the Netherlands Reformed Congregation at Rock Valley with Rev. E.C. Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery. Albertha Joane Koenen was born April 11, 1950 on the homestead NW of Rock Valley, daughter of Dick and Jeanette (Ymker) Koenen. After attending school, Joane worked at Otis Radio at Canton and Koster Manufacturing. She married Ward Taylor on October 7, 1977 and together they made their home and farmed near Ireton. Joane enjoyed knitting; visiting with friends and relatives; and thoroughly enjoyed being with the grandkids and giving them gator rides around the farm.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Ward; sons, Jeff (Kristine) Taylor of Rock Valley, Kent (Emily) Taylor of Hawarden, and Anden Taylor and his fianc'e Kathryn Rottenberg of Ireton; brother, Wayne (Audrey) Koenen of Rock Valley; sister, Mary Hoogendoorn of Rock Valley; and seven grandchildren.

Joane was preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Jeanette; and brother-in-law, Marion Hoogendoorn.
