The Kroon family is deeply saddened by the death of Harold B. Kroon, who passed away on Friday, November 8, 2013 at the age of 88.
Harold B. Kroon was born November 15, 1924 in Minnesota, the son of Bert and Josephine (Van Grevenhof) Kroon. He served in the United States Navy from 1941-1964, serving in Korea and Vietnam. During World War II Harold served in the Pacific. He was a Captain in the Navy and was a Navy Seal for 6 years. He served his country with pride and was true to his service.
Harold did not like the cold weather in the north so he lived most of his life in warmer climate. He was employed with New York Special Bakery in Orlando, Florida for many years. Following retirement, Harold and Shirley made their home in Clermont, Florida.
Harold was active in the Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School for 2 years. He loved God and was faithful to God. He was a good father, husband, and a family man. Harold was also a 'baseball nut!'
He is survived by his wife, Shirley of 48 years; sons, Michael Smith and Roger Smith; daughters, Becky Anderson and Lisa Potts; many nephews and nieces. Harold was loved greatly by his family.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Marie; his brothers and sister.
