Inwood, Iowa: Grace Jacobsma, 86, of Inwood, died Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Sanford Canton-Inwood Hospital. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Inwood Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Sam Krikke officiating. Burial will follow at Richland Cemetery. Visitation with family will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Inwood Christian Reformed Church. Grace was born May 22, 1927 at the family farm near Rock Valley, Iowa, daughter of Albert and Rolena (Moorlag) Veltkamp. Grace was united in marriage with Peter Jacobsma on December 16, 1948 in Rock Valley. Together they farmed between Rock Valley and Inwood until moving to Inwood in 1965 where Pete owned Inwood Feed and Milling. In 1980, Grace and Pete moved to Visalia, CA until retiring back to Inwood in 2006. Pete died January 15, 2013. Grace enjoyed traveling, ceramics, needlepoint, crocheting, and puzzles. She donated her time and talents to Cornerstone Prison Ministry and was a member of Inwood Christian Reformed Church.
Grace is survived by her four sons, Robert (LaVerna) of Hartford, SD, Perry (Stephanie) of Tulare, CA, Randy (Vicki) of Sioux Falls, SD, and Brian (Wanita) of Inwood, IA; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 4 step-grandchildren; 16 step-great-grandchildren; and 4 step-great-great-grandchildren; brother, Dick (Sylvia) Veltkamp of Inwood; sister, Henrietta Haak of Hills, MN; brother-in-law, Gerrit (Arlis) Vande Kamp of George, IA.
Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Pete; daughter-in-law, Johanna Jacobsma; sister, Jean Vande Kamp; brother-in-law, Gerald Haak.
