HAWARDEN, IOWA ~ Gilberto Manuel Armenta, born in Sioux City on July 4th, 2001, passed away June 17, 2024. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hawarden with Father Mauro Sanchez celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow at Grace Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday also at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden is assisting the family. 

 Gilberto is survived by his parents Alberto and Maria Silvia Armenta, siblings Ernesto Soto, Heriberto, Delia, Adrian, Alina, and Silvia Armenta, as well as Brenda and David McPeek, Alberto and Lucero Armenta. Gilberto is predeceased by grandfather Rafael Robles, grandmother Delia Castro, brother Cristian Vargas, and sister Alina Guadalupe Armenta. Gilberto has eight nephews and five nieces who he loved very much. 

 Gilberto was raised in Hawarden and graduated from West Sioux. After high school, Gilberto worked in construction alongside his brother Alberto Jr. Gilberto enjoyed working construction, as he was very crafty himself. He learned by watching his father fix things around the house and work on cars. 

 Hobbies for Gilberto were not limited. Gilberto enjoyed many things including long boarding, listening to music, writing music, and hanging out with his family and close friends. He had a great sense of humor; he was always telling everyone jokes and going out of his way to cheer you up. He will be missed by all who knew him but will forever be remembered.

 

Gilberto Manuel Armenta, nacido en Sioux City, Iowa el 4 de Julio de 2001, falleció el 17 de Junio de 2024. A Gilberto le sobreviven sus padres Alberto y Maria Silvia Armenta, sus hermanos Ernesto Soto, Heriberto, Delia, Adrian, Alina y Silvia Armenta, Brenda y David McPeek, Alberto y Lucero Armenta. Gilberto ha fallecido antes de su abuelo Rafael Robles, su abuela Delia Castro, su hermano Cristian Vargas y su hermana Alina Guadalupe Armenta. Gilberto tiene ocho sobrinos y cinco sobrinas a los que quería y adoraba mucho.

 Gilberto se crió en Hawarden, Iowa y se graduó de West Sioux. Después de la escuela secundaria, Gilberto trabajó en la construcción junto a su hermano Alberto Jr. Gilberto disfrutó trabajando en la construcción, ya que él mismo era muy astuto. Aprendió a ver a su padre arreglar cosas en la casa y trabajar en coches.

 Los pasatiempos de Gilberto no eran limitados. Gilberto disfrutó de muchas cosas, incluyendo paseándose en su patineta, escuchar música, escribir música y pasar el rato con su familia y amigos. Tenía un gran sentido de humor. Siempre contaba chistes a todo el mundo y hacía todo lo posible para animarnos. Todos los que conocieron a Gilberto lo recordarán para siempre y nunca será olvidado.
