HAWARDEN, IOWA- Frank W. Jager 72, of Hawarden, died suddenly on Monday, August 26, 2013 at the Hawarden Regional Healthcare Hospital in Hawarden.
Memorial graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at the Eden Cemetery at Hudson, South Dakota with Pastor Kevin Jensen officiating. Visitation will begin at noon Tuesday, with the family present from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden.
Frank W. Jager was born July 18, 1941 in Hawarden, Iowa, the son of Al and Ruth (Armstrong) Jager. He graduated from Hudson, South Dakota High School. Frank married Janet Sullivan on May 29, 1964 in Elk Point, South Dakota. He farmed and assisted many area farmers near Hawarden and Spink, South Dakota. They moved into Hawarden in 1983. Frank and Janet delivered the daily papers for the past 30 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and dutch oven cooking.
Survivors include his wife, Janet; three children, Frank Jr (Judy) Jager of Rock Valley, Iowa, Terri (Brett) Jager of Independence, Missouri and Jason (Sarah) Jager of Akron, Iowa and eight grandchildren.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Roy, Glenn, and Harold; and two sisters, Bernice Jager and Alice Jager.
