Hawarden, Iowa: Ferdinand 'Ferd' Gosch, 95, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at the Hillcrest Health Care Center in Hawarden. A memorial service is 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Todd Bunge officiating. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wall Lake Cemetery in Wall Lake, Iowa. Porter Funeral Home of Hawarden, Iowa is assisting the family. Ferdinand August Gosch was born October 13, 1917 in Wall Lake, Iowa to Jurgen and Anna (Gonnerman) Gosch. He graduated from Wall Lake High School in 1936 and entered the US Air Force in 1941 until 1945. Ferdinand married Irene Kratochvil on December 14, 1975 at Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake. Ferdinand was employed as a hearing aid specialist for 45 years. He was an avid bowler, bowling one perfect game, and he also enjoyed watching sports.
Ferdinand is survived by his wife, Irene; sisters, Emma Gosch of Wall Lake, Iowa and Louise Anderson of Vancouver, Washington; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Chris, Claus, Louis, and Martin; and sisters, Alvina and Marie.
