Ezra Jon Bakker

Doon, IA: Ezra Jon Bakker, 5, of Doon, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at his home in Doon. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 28, at 10:00 AM at the Netherlands Reformed Congregation in Sioux Center, Iowa with Rev. H. Hofman officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Rock Valley. Visitation with the family present will be held Monday, January 27, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley. Visitation will end at 7:00 PM and the family will not be receiving guests after 7:00 PM.

 Ezra Jon Bakker was born to Joshua and Lori Bakker (Teunissen) on January 6, 2020, in Sioux Falls, SD. He passed away in his sleep on January 21 of 2025. He was one of 11 children.

 Ezra was a very sweet, busy boy. He loved being outdoors and playing with his brothers, sisters, and neighbor children. He enjoyed hunting, swimming, fishing, fixing puzzles, and so many other things. His curiosity about the world around him was notable. We always called him our “Quiet Observer”. Ezra loved preschool and learning very much. He always showed an especially keen interest in Bible stories. His precious little voice will be missed so much in our home. He had a special bond with his oldest sister, Emery, whom he called his “Girlfriend”. His 5 short years in our home were very precious. Ezra had the sweetest little personality that filled such a large place in our family.

 Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Joshua and Lori Bakker; his 10 loving siblings; Treyton, Anden, Emery, Kinley, Eli, Jaiven, Kadrie, Jarett, Oakley, and Tobin at home in Doon, IA. His grandparents Gerrit and Joyce Bakker of Rock Valley, IA, and Andy and Maria Teunissen of Doon, IA; many, many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
