Ireton, Iowa ~ Eloise A. Heuer, 81, of Ireton, died Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at the Hawarden Regional Healthcare Hospital in Hawarden, Iowa.
Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Ireton, Iowa with Rev. Andrew Carlson officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon Friday, with the family present from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. all at St. Pauls Lutheran Church. Eloise A. Heuer was born April 9, 1933 in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Adolph and Anna (Dahlgren) Berg. She attended and graduated from Hawarden High School in 1952 and from National Business Training School in Sioux City in 1953.
She married Ronald F. Heuer December 2, 1953 in Luverne, Minnesota. Upon Rons discharge in 1954 from the US Army they lived in Sioux City. Eloise was employed by Pioneer Iron Works. They moved to Hawarden in 1956 and farmed for 9 years. They later moved to Ireton in 1966. Eloise was employed at Coilcraft in Hawarden for 33 years until her retirement in 2000. Ron passed away July 3, 2005.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawarden until transferring to St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Ireton in 1969. She was active as a Sunday school teacher, LWL, Altar Guild and on the steering committee for the churches 125th anniversary. Eloise also volunteered as treasurer for the Ireton Historical Society and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 276. At the Orange City Health Systems she volunteered in the gift garden.
Eloise is survived by two sons, Wayne and wife Kathy of Ireton and Reed and wife Carol of Riverview, Florida; a brother, Warren C. (Joan) Berg of Arvada, Colorado; a sister, Marjorie (Herman) Gradert of Sibley, Iowa; five grandchildren, Ben, Britney, Kaitlyn, Sam, and Eric; two great-grandchildren, Dalton and Dawson.
Eloise was preceded in death by her parents; son, Craig Heuer in 1985; husband, Ron in 2005; nephews, Darwin and Glen Heuer and Stuart Berg; niece, Stephanie Berg; in-laws, Ted and Clara Heuer; and brother-in-law, Dean Heuer.
Memorials are preferred to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church or the Ireton Historical Society.
