Doris Lillian Moore, 90, went to be with her Lord, September 4, 2017. Doris was living at the home of her daughter (Kathy) in Colorado Springs, CO. She was attended by her two daughters, Linda Moore and Kathy (Moore) Stewart and Kathy’s husband Harry. Burial of cremated remains will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Eden Cemetery in Hudson, South Dakota.
Doris was the daughter of William and Elise (nee Somme) Robinson of Hudson, South Dakota, loving wife of Ralph Elmer Moore (retired, deceased, CMSgt, USAF), She was preceded in death by four siblings, Charles Robinson, Velda (Robinson) Groth, Bernard Robinson, and Frank Robinson. She is survived by two siblings, Betty (Robinson) Gubrud (92) of Worthington, MN, and Bob Robinson (88) of Surprise, AZ; two daughters, Linda Moore of Springfield, VA, and Kathy Stewart and Kathy’s spouse Harry of Colorado Springs, CO and a son Ralph (Chip) Jr. and Chip’s spouse Jennefer, of Aurora, CO. Additionally, she is also survived by four grandchildren, Travis Berry of Austin TX, Sean Stewart of Chaptico MD, Ryan Berry of San Antonio TX and Heather Scanlon of Colorado Springs CO and nine great-grandchildren, scattered throughout the US. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, (and so on) too numerous to list.
Doris was widely traveled, having lived all around the US and in both France and Germany as a military spouse. She worked as an AAFES employee until she retired in 1992, and was active in the fraternal organization “Sons of Norway” until moving from Yuba City, California in 2010.She was an avid golfer until a shoulder injury turned this passion into one of recreational fast walking. She was an accomplished painter in the Scandinavian art form of Rosemaling. She loved traveling and visiting with a wide range of friends and family across the United States. Services arrangements are pending for the Hudson, South Dakota area. Hers was a life well lived and she will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
