Cornelius “Bud” Hoff, 86, of Lubbock, TX, passed away Monday, April 9, 2018. A memorial reception will be held on Friday, July 6th, from 6:30-8:30 PM at the Inwood Community Center, Inwood, Iowa. Private burial was held at Richland Cemetery in mid-April. Porter Funeral Home of Inwood is assisting the family with arrangements in Iowa. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to the charity of their choice.
Cornelius “Bud” Hoff was born June 27, 1931 in Luverne, Minnesota to Henry and Anna (Van Batavia) Hoff. After graduating from Inwood H.S., he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served for two years during the Korean War. Bud married Eldora (Veldman) Hoff on December 31, 1954 in Inwood, Iowa. He spent his days farming corn and soy beans in Lyon County, Iowa until 1977 when the family moved to Dalhart, TX and farmed near Hartley. Bud retired from farming to Gilbert, AZ before relocating to Lubbock to be closer to family in 2012. He was a member of Lakeridge Methodist Church.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Eldora; three daughters, Cindy Schipper of Allen, TX, Karen and her husband Shon Qualls of Lubbock, TX, Sandy and her husband Kirk Farris of Nazareth, TX; 6 grandchildren, Taylor Schipper, Shon “Dalton” Qualls, Lindsey and husband John Beverlin, Zachary and wife Lacey Farris, Maegan and husband Jordy Rowland, Zane and wife Karis Farris; 10 great grandchildren, Knox Beverlin, Copper Farris, Chesney Farris, Aubree Rowland, Ace Rowland, Harper Rowland, Tag Rowland, Jett Farris, Kannon Farris, and Kree Farris.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Grace and her husband Henry Kooima, 2 children, Mark and Jill Hoff.
