Cindy Sue Abbey, 68, of Fort Collins, Colorado passed away peacefully at home on February 17th, 2025, with her beloved family by her side.
Cindy was born June 4th, 1956, in Hawarden, Iowa to Orland and Darlene Abbey. After attending West Sioux High School, she moved to Colorado in 1978 and raised her two daughters there. She worked at Hewlett Packard, Pella Windows, and UCHealth. After working hard for many years, she began her well-deserved retirement in 2021.
She was known for being a loving mother, grammy, sister, and friend. Some of her greatest joys in life were spending time with her grandkids, babysitting her grandpets, going on spontaneous road trips, and seeking out places to get ice cream.
Survivors include daughters, Beth (Seth) Pickett of Fort Collins, Colorado and Danyel (Jason) Rigdon of Freeburg, Illinois; grandchildren, Hannah, Taylor, Allyssa, Trent, Sloan, and Mavis; great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Lillian; brother, Larry (Cammy) Abbey of Commerce City, Colorado; sister, Orlene (Allen) Van Noort of Hawarden, Iowa; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents, Orland and Darlene Abbey; infant brother, Jon Abbey; and great-grandson, John Luna.
Visitation with the family will be held at Centerpoint Church in Hawarden, Iowa from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 7th, 2025, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Grace Hill Cemetery, Hawarden, Iowa. The Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden is assisting the family. Condolences may be sent to www.porterfuneralhomes.com. A local celebration of life will be held in Fort Collins, Colorado at a date and time to be determined.
