Beverly was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on July 28, 1946 to Ed and Eva (Van Oort) Van Berkum. She graduated from Washington High School and attended the University of South Dakota. Bev’s career, of 50 years, included encouraging her husband and training her children to love as Jesus taught us to love. She continued to assist her children by helping them train their children to follow Jesus as well. Her biggest regret during her final days was that she would not be able to see her grandchildren get married and continue the Legacy.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Gene Ver Steeg; four children, including Bill (Beverly) Ver Steeg of Mansfield, Texas, Tami (Brent) Grosvenor of Southington, Connecticut, Mike (Sarah) Ver Steeg of Inwood and Angela (Josh) Allen of Rotterdam, Netherlands; 12 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; her siblings, Dean (Bonnie) Van Berkum of Lake Havasu City, Arizona and Roy (Cara) Van Berkum of Rapid City, South Dakota; and a sister-in-law, Barb Van Berkum of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Bev was preceded in death by her first husband, Randy Rosenberg; her parents; and her brother, Henry Van Berkum.
