Inwood, Iowa: Anne Schroeder, age 96, of Inwood, Iowa died Monday, February 18, 2013 at Fellowship Village in Inwood. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Inwood with Rev. John Wolf officiating. Burial will follow at the Richland Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m, Friday, February 22, 2013 with the family present from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Inwood Porter Funeral Home. Anne Schroeder was born September 9, 1916 to Jess and Matilda (Jensen) Ver Wey in Alvord, Iowa. Anne attended the Inwood area country school until the 8th grade. She lived in Inwood her whole life as a homemaker and taking care of numerous people, including her younger siblings. On October 3, 1980, Anne married Henry Schroeder in Inwood. Together they built a house in Inwood. Henry died August 2, 1985 and Anne moved to Fellowship Village in October of 2005. In her spare time, Anne enjoyed attending card clubs, playing bingo, embroidery, crocheting, gardening, canning and baking, but family was the most important to her.
Anne is survived by her sisters, Margaret (Clarence) Stevens of Beresford, SD and Gladys De Graaff of Meridian, ID; brother, Donald Ver Wey (special friend, Gloria) of Kimberly, ID; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry; sisters, Gertrude (Richard) Johnson and Betty Mullinix; brother, Richard (Eileen) Ver Wey; and brother-in-law, Mike De Graaff.
