Allen L. Hyronemus, 58, of Sioux City, passed away Friday, March, 1, 2013 at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, at Porter Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Locke officiating in Rock Valley, Iowa. A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening, March 5 at Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley, Iowa. Allen was born March 9, 1954 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, son of Millard and Mildred (Johnson) Hyronemus. He attended school in Worthing, South Dakota and enlisted in the army during the early 1970's. Allen married Gloria Schelling on October 10, 1987 in Sioux City. Allen worked in packing houses until 2004 and has been on disability for the past eight years due to health. Allen enjoyed the outdoors, bird watching and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Gloria of Sioux City, parents Millard and Mildred Hyronemus of Rock Valley, IA, Parent-in-laws Dick and Marilou Schelling of Sioux City, IA, children: Jason (Misty) Hyronemus of Clarksville, TN, Chad (Katie) Hyronemus of Canton, SD, Joshua Hyronemus of Sioux City, Tiffany Prins (Clint Prosser) of Sioux City, Monty (Jennifer) Prins of Sioux Center, Nicole (Chris) Mohning of Jackson, MN, and Chantelle Prins (Jordan Seals) of Sergeant Bluff, IA,

Allen was preceded in death by his grandparents Harm and Verona Hyronemus and John and Selma Johnson, grandchildren Whittney and Ayden, and several aunts and uncles.
